Carpet and rugs are made of a variety of materials. It differs in variety of ways , the methods of carpet making vary from region to region. They are handwoven as well as manufactured through machines.Both of them have their own distinct characteristics. Carpets are sometimes decorated through embroidery or other crafts giving them grace and elegance. The quality of rugs also vary depending in their manufacturing process and the materials involved, and a huge variety of contemporary rugs stock the selves. From nylon, rayon and acetate, to wool, silk and cotton rugs are made of variety of materials.

Knotted rugs are available in an array of colors and sizes. the quality and very often the cost of a hand knotted rug is determined by the number of knots per square inch, in this case higher density means better quality.knotted pile rugs can be machine or man made. depending on their origins. a complex pattern can require very dense knotting and thus it can take a long time to produce. An average weaver can tie about 10,000 knots per day. So you can imagine how long it can take to complete one rug.especially if it happens to be a large one.



Hooked Rugs

At present hand knotted carpets are made by Afghan refugees residing in Pakistan , making carpets and one of the country's leading export products.



Turkmen Rugs

 A Turkmen rug is a type of handmade floor covering textile traditionally originating in Central Asia. the original Turkmen rugs were produced by the Turkmen tribes who are the main ethnic group in Turkmenistan and are also found in Afghanistan and Iran.
